Background

Hello. My name is Joe and I've been an entrepreneur my entire life. As a 10 year old I started mowing lawns and cleaning gutters. I've collected golf balls, delivered papers, cleaned cars, and been a salesman in several industries. I went back to college as an adult and earned a degree in Finance and an MBA. And I have 25 years of experience in the sports flooring industry.
About 20 years ago I started a company that buys, sells, and brokers used sports floors and equipment. This has put me in touch with other entrepreneurs in every phase of a business lifecycle. Some of our customers are just getting started, and that's exciting. Others are expanding their successful and growing business, but unfortunately a fair number of the people we speak to are closing their doors. They've exhausted their resources and run out of options. And they speak to us because they need to liquidate their business.
An important thing to remember is that we're all in sales. Whether you're teacher, basketball coach, or astronaut, you're in sales or will be before you're done. When NASA decides the Mars program is terminated or the school plans to cut your budget, you're going to have to start selling the value of your program and its importance unless you want to quit.
